The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) became law on April 20, 2001. In order to be in compliance with this legislation, public school districts must certify that they have the policies and technology measures in place to block or filter Internet access for both minors and adults to certain visual depictions. The Office of Technology Services of Anderson School District Four has enabled Internet content filtering in its schools and district office. The Internet content filtering solution, Websense, has been implemented in order to comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA).
